Unlike the rest of us who would rather burn our embarrassing childhood photos than air them for the world to see, Ariana Grande has taken to the ‘gram to remind us of an embarrassing incident from her youth with throwback pics to boot.

Grande has shared a newspaper clipping about that time when she was struck by a hockey puck at an ice hockey game… twice.
Now, I consider myself something of an Arianator (Ariana stan) but I have legit NEVER heard this legendary yarn, but apparently the newspaper article has been doing the ’rounds for years.
‘Boca kid gets a puck and ice’ reads the headline from 1998, along with ‘5-year-old fine after being struck 2nd time’.
To compensate for the soon-to-be pop sensation’s bad luck, she was reportedly allowed to ride the ice resurfacer which is when she had her photo and thus the memory of the incident immortalised forever.

She later shared a close-up photo from the article and poked fun at her ill-fated Japanese tattoo:
“If i’m honest ….. This is still exactly what i look like without lashes and my pony ….. Anyone who knows me knows me knows ….. Like …. I’m twenty five. I was five here. The only difference now is that hand now says bbq grill finger.”

She even shared a fan-made photo roasting the tattoo drama and captioned it: “fuck”.
The wildest of rides, this was. Not unlike the ice resurfacer ride Grande took after being struck twice and living to tell the tale.
