ARGH: Those Spooky ‘AHS’ Teasers Are Red Herrings To Keep The Theme Secret

[screams violently] “OH GOD, I JUST WANT TO KNOW THE THEME!” *sobs incessantly* – Us.
We thought we had the theme to season six of ‘American Horror Story’ all wrapped up, with our illuminating and thorough season-linked PROOF of the potential ‘Roanoke’ theme from TMZ‘s leaked photos.
And let’s be brutally honest, the theme of ‘Roanoke’the 1600s US colony of 118-strong people that just went completely missing, never to be seen again? That’s a motherfkn EXCELLENT them choice. They even referenced it in S01 ‘Murder House’.
But apparently not.
At a recent Television Critics Association panel, FX Networks/Productions CEO John Landgraf said Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk are particularly secretive with this year’s theme because, AND WE QUOTE, they “thought it would really be fun to keep it a mystery.”
According to Landgraf, Murphy and FX Marketing President Stephanie Gibbons made a bunch of trailers all depicting a different theme, place, time, and plot in order to confuse audiences.
So out of all those delightfully horrifying teasers and trailers you’ve seen, one is truthful and the others are all red herrings

“One of them is accurate and the others are all misdirects.

So we’re just having fun with it, and we just thought it would be fun after five years of doing it one way.”
Season 6 of ‘American Horror Story‘ is only a month away from debuting, so apparently we’re not going to find anything about the plot, characters or theme until the moment we hit play on Ep.1.

“We’re not going to reveal it because we think it will be fun for the audience to be surprised.”
