The Pitch Perfect series is fast becoming the Fast And Furious of a cappella movies, an unexpected and delightful development with which we will gladly get on board.
The first film made $115 million worldwide, on a budget of just $17 million, and Pitch Perfect 2 has so far made more than $260 million, meaning that Pitch Perfect 3 is a no-brainer at this point.
A few months ago, we reported that Rebel Wilson was already on board to reprise her role as Fat Amy in the franchise’s upcoming film.
Today, Anna Kendrick announced, via the very Anna Kendrick medium of Twitter, that she’ll also be back for a third go-around.

Much as we enjoyed Pitch Perfect 2, incongruous David Cross cameo and all, Kendrick seemed a little glum to be back amongst the Bellas – hopefully that’s not the case again next time.
Pitch Perfect 3 is set for release on July 21, 2017, and Kay Cannon, who wrote the first two, is currently in talks to write the third.
