In what’s shaping up to be one of the year’s most highly-anticipated movies irrespective of the Academy Award-winning performance sure to be given by Angelina Jolie’s Prosthetic Cheekbones, Lana Del Rey has been enlisted by the horny titular A-lister to contribute a cover of ‘Once Upon A Dream’ to the latest trailer for Maleficent.
Stealing whatever thunder was left by the time it aired midway through yesterday’s Grammys, the new trailer looks and sounds like every bit the camp spectacular you want from a movie boasting both Jolie’s Menacing Smize and Elle Fanning’s Hammy English Accent alike as Disney’s most villainous antagonist and hapless princess respectively.
Apparently Lana was expressly chosen by Jolie to soundtrack the film’s closing credits; perhaps now, following her Oscar snub for ‘Young & Beautiful’, the Academy will finally sit up and take notice of the songwriting genius behind lyrics like “My pussy tastes like Pepsi Cola”.
Also starring IRL princess Vivienne Jolie Pitt, Juno Temple, Sharlto Copley, Miranda Richardson, Brenton Thwaites, Sam Riley and Imelda Staunton, Maleficent is slated for worldwide release on May 30th, 2014.
