Amy Schumer‘s upcoming collection of personal essays and anecdotes, The Girl With The Lower Back Tattoo, has the kind of back-story that would make aspiring writers pinch themselves and/or drink heavily.
In 2013, Harper Collins offered her a two-book deal for a cool $1 million, but she was so busy she returned her advance; two years later, at auction, Simon & Schuster snapped up the rights to her first book for $8 million.
We’ll have to wait until August to get our hands on a copy of the book, which is filled with “personal and observational stories” that “range from the raunchy to the romantic, the heartfelt to the harrowing.”
At least we can get a good look at the cover, which Schumer shared overnight on Twitter. Soak it up:
