Amber Sherlock Admits She “Had To” Rock A White Logies Gown After That Vid

Those best known for their widely-publicised goofs aren’t generally encouraged to remind the planet at every available opportunity, but hell, sometimes you’ve just got to rock a white dress.

Amber Sherlock, the news anchor whose terse opinion on a colleague’s matching white outfit became international news, wore a floor-length white gown to last night’s Logie Awards. As you do.

Let the night begin. Tune in to Nine Now! @logies2017

While it’s not best practice to hone in entirely on an attendee’s outfit – Sherlock was on deck due to her continued work on Channel 9’s news programming – Fairfax Media did see it fit to ask her a couple of specific and v. relevant Q’s.

Behind the scenes… A huge thank you to this incredibly talented man Jason @jasongrech ????

According to her, her decision to rock that white number was “not quite” a response to the situation, but “I had to, right? I couldn’t shy away from it.” The presenter added that she hoped the Jason Grech gown would show she has a sense of humour about the whole sitch.

She (quite correctly) said “I was the subject of something absolutely extraordinary which no one could ever have foreseen, and I can laugh at myself too.” Luckily enough for her, being able to laugh at herself involves a decidedly glam outfit, which is more than most social media pariahs can hope for.

Sherlock said she has to “own it.” That means you can expect to see her wearing more white in the days, weeks and months to come, pals.
