In extremely wholesome Friday news, Amber Heard has dropped a baby bombshell on Instagram, which is the best kind of bombshell you can drop, honestly. So very CUTE.
Amber posted a completely adorable photo earlier today, with a little muffin curled up on her chest. In the caption, Amber Heard very frankly discusses the fact that she decided she wanted to be a mum, but also made the choice to do it solo.

“I’m so excited to share this news with you. Four years ago, I decided I wanted to have a child. I wanted to do it on my own terms,” Amber says.
“I now appreciate how radical it is for us as women to think about one of the most fundamental parts of our destinies in this way. I hope we arrive at a point in which it’s normalised to not want a ring in order to have a crib.”
She continued: “A part of me wants to uphold that my private life is none of anyone’s business. I also get that the nature of my job compels me to take control of this. My daughter was born on April 8, 2021. Her name is Oonagh Paige Heard. She’s the beginning of the rest of my life.”
(I will chime in here and say it’s all well and good to say this, but not everyone has the financial means to follow the IVF / surrogate / adoption process and raise a baby on their own. That shit is expensive. But I do agree with what Amber Heard says about normalising solo parenting, and unmarried parenting too.)
According to Page Six, Amber Heard, who is currently in a relationship with photographer Bianca Butti, had baby Oonagh with the help of a surrogate.
A source told the outlet: “The most important thing for Amber is that she’s open about Oonagh’s birth. There are so many women who feel they can’t talk about their fertility and are worried and embarrassed.
“Amber wants them to feel supported and realise that there are a multitude of ways to have a baby even if you have fertility issues.”
Possibly the most adorable element of the news is that lil baby Oonagh Paige is partly named for Amber Heard’s beloved mother Paige, who passed away in May 2020. Bless.
