Amanda Seyfried Says She’s Down To Do Mamma Mia 3 So Here We Go Again Folks

Mamma Mia! fans assemble – Amanda Seyfried has said she’s game to get the gang back together and belt out even more ABBA songs in the Greek islands for a possible third film.

During an appearance this week on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, the actress and mother of two said she’d rather do another film in the series than have a third kid.

“Definitely third Mamma Mia!, definitely no third child,” she said, adding that her dream cast would include her Les Mis co-star Hugh Jackman and Colbert himself.

Why stop there? “If it was up to me, yes, of course, there would be eight Mamma Mia! [films],” she said. “Do you know how much fun that is?”

Last year, producer Judy Craymer said she always imagined the films being a set of three, saying:

“I think one day there will be another film, because there’s meant to be a trilogy, you see. I know Universal would like me to do it.”

Amanda Seyfried said earlier that she questioned the viability of a third Mamma Mia! as there might not be enough ABBA songs, but honestly, why limit ourselves to that?

Why not just go the Fast & Furious route and spin the Mamma Mia! franchise out into an eleven-film cinematic universe with a different artist featured in every movie?

Imagine the music of Celine Dion in Mamma Mia! IV: It’s All Coming Back To Me Now. Then they can do Mariah Carey in Mamma Mia! V: All I Want For Christmas Is You.

Imagine a Kelly Clarkson one, or a Taylor Swift one, or a Katy Perry one, or damn, maybe a Britney Spears one. There are so many pop girls to choose from.

They could get real weird with this concept too. I can’t wait for Mamma Mia! IX: Fetch The Bolt Cutters and Mamma Mia! X: Vroom Vroom. Your move, guys.
