Here’s Where You Know The Class Of ’07 Cast From Because We Know You’re Gonna IMDb Them

After what feels like an eternity of waiting, Prime Video’s latest Australian TV series, Class of ‘07  has finally dropped, so time to binge away.

If you’re yet to hear about the show firstly, where have you been?

Secondly, Class of ‘07 takes place at a ten-year, all-girls high school reunion. When an apocalyptic tidal wave hits their former high school campus, the old peers have to figure out a way to survive.

Described as “Lord of the Flies in cocktail dresses”, Class of ‘07 is as much about the love (and devastation) of female friendship as it is a disaster series.

Since the eight episodes have now dropped on Prime Video, we thought we’d take a look at the cast. It’s important to platform local Aussie talent and you may even recognise a few faces from your fave childhood shows.

Emily Browning – Zoe

Born in Melbourne, Emily began acting as a child and landed her first silver screen debut (The Echo Of Thunder) in 1998 at the age of just ten years old. Emily then went on to rack up a bunch of TV credits including High Flyers, Something In The Air and Blue Heelers. Her breakthrough role came in 2002’s Ghost Ship where she played a creepy Victorian-esque ghost (it looks truly terrifying).

Us millennial/ Gen Z-ers however, will probably recognise Emily from the classic book adaptation of Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events. Emily played the character Violet Baudelaire alongside the one and only Jim Carrey. Since that role, Emily has been in a heap of international movies such as The Uninvited, Sucker Punch, Summer In February, Legend and more. Most recently, Emily has had a recurring role as Laura Moon in the series American Gods.

Now, Emily has come back to her home country to play Zoe. In Class of ‘07, Zoe has been dumped on national TV (ouch), and is hiding out off-grid when she stumbles upon her ten-year reunion. She does forget to mention the whole impending tidal wave sitch to her classmates though… that ought to go down well!

Caitlin Stasey – Saskia

One of Australia’s greatest acting exports, Caitlin Stasey first appeared on our screens in 2003 when she was cast as Francesca ‘Frankie’ Thomas the leader of the group in The Sleepover Club. And can I just say that if you watched The Sleepover Club every day after school, you’re a real one and let’s be friends.

After her stint as Frankie, Caitlin ended up at the acting school of Neighbours. She played Rachel Kinski and was cast when she was only 15 years-old. Wild. Caitlin left the show in 2009 stating she wanted to focus on her VCE studies.

In 2010, Caitlin played the lead role in the Australian classic (read by high schoolers the country over) Tomorrow When The War Began. She depicts Ellie Linton, one of seven teenagers waging a guerrilla war against an invading foreign power in their fictional hometown.

Since then, Caitlin has moved to LA and appeared in Reign, All Cheerleaders Die, I, Frankenstein, SMILE and more. She also had a recurring role in ABC2’s Please Like Me

Like Emily, Caitlin has also returned to her silver screen roots and is back in Australia for Class of ‘07. Caitlin plays Saskia, the former Queen Bee of high school who’s now a kind and thoughtful CEO running an eco start-up. We love personal growth!

Steph Tisdell – Phoebe

Steph Tisdell won the 2014 Deadly Funny National Grand Final and is now a gem of the Australian comedy scene. She’s performed stand-up on stages across the country including the Adelaide Fringe and Melbourne International Comedy Festival and is a regular in media such as The Project, Triple J and ABC.

As a proud Ydinji woman, Steph is also a cast member of the Aboriginal Comedy All Stars, who sold out during their festival run at Edinburgh Fringe. In Class of ’07, Steph is playing Phoebe, a workaholic killing it in the finance sector. The only reason she’s rocking up to the reunion is because her boss forced her to for ‘work-life balance’.

Megan Smart – Amelia

Megan Smart is a triple threat. An actress, a producer and a director, Megan is a Lebanese-Australian who has starred in films including The Naked Wanderer, Standing Up For Sunny and Breath.

She also has extensive TV credits including The Unusual Suspects and Home And Away. In Class of ‘07, Megan plays Amelia, Zoe’s estranged best friend. She mysteriously left school halfway through their final year, and ten years on, everyone still has no clue why.

Emma Horn – Renee

Emma Horn is an actress, LGBTQIA+ activist and TikTok creator (with a casual 205.1K followers). Now she’s playing Renee in Class of ‘07. Renee does what many of us would love to do at our reunions: lie. The nail technician fibs that she’s actually a doctor and I’m already stressed for her.

Some of Emma’s past credits include starring in the Australian film Kairos, The Sacred and Violet Daze. The latter of which resulted in Emma being nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Short Film at the FANtastic Awards.

Sana’a Shaik – Teresa

Sana’a Shaik is a South African-born actress who is now based in Sydney. While she gained a degree in management at the University of Sydney, acting has always been Sana’a’s passion. Luckily she followed it because she’s now starred in a number of TV series such as Reckoning, Dive Club, Summer Love and multiple short films.

In Class of ‘07, Sana’a plays the optimistic sweetheart Teresa. All she wants is to become a mum. That’s the kind of energy you want in an apocalypse, right?

Chi Nguyen – Megan

Chi Nguyen moved from Vietnam to Australia by herself at the age of just 16 years-old to pursue acting. While her most recent TV credit is playing Megan, an intense violinist in the Class of ‘07, you may have seen her in another Amazon Original series The Wilds, as well as in ABC’s FISK (the comedy series written by comedian Kitty Flanagan).

If you’re a theatre-goer in Melbourne, you may have also seen her on stage at the Melbourne FRINGE Comedy Festival and the Melbourne Theatre Company’s LAURINDA which had a run in 2022. With writing and comedy credits under her belt, Chi seems like one to watch.

So there you go, what a talented bunch of Aussies who are now going to blow us away in the disaster comedy, Class of ’07. I’m sure we’ll be seeing a lot more from them after the show as well.
