Stan’s New Series ‘All American’ Fills The Void Left By ‘Friday Night Lights’

If our continuing obsession with The OC is anything to go by, we love ourselves some spicy high school drama featuring ridiculously good-looking people. And if the mass popularity of Friday Night Lights tells us anything it’s that us Aussies bloody love an American footy drama. Since it’s basically a combo of both, the new Stan-exclusive series All-American is probably gonna be our new favourite show.

When Spencer James (Daniel Ezra), a highly-skilled athlete and straight-A student from South L.A., is recruited to play for the hoity-toity Beverly Hills High, major tension emerges between the two vastly different communities and he finds himself struggling to fit into the world of the privileged.

See? It’s basically The OC‘s Ryan Atwood coming from Chino to Orange County, except this time he’s super smart and also good at football.

And instead of Orange County it’s the ultra-glam world of Beverly Hills, feat. ginormous mansions, bitchy rich kids and parents with more money than they know what to do with. It’s not wonder poor Spencer feels a little out of place in his new neighbourhood.

Added to the “kid from the wrong side of the tracks” storyline is the high-stakes world of high school football, which if you were a FNL fan, you’ll know is big business over in the States.

The series boasts a cast of familiar faces from your other fave shows like Taye Diggs (Private Practice), Daniel EzraBre-Z (Empire), Samantha Logan (Teen Wolf, The Fosters13 Reasons Why), Cody Christian (Pretty Little LiarsTeen Wolf) and more.

Watch the trailer below then head straight to Stan to suss out your brand new obsession.
