Bachelorette Ali Oetjen Has Her Say On All That Drama With Grant Kemp

It begins. As The Bachelor slows down and approaches crunch time, The Bachelorette is getting into gear. Already, we’ve had our first promo of a singing Bachelorette Ali Oetjen and now – just like clockwork – the interviews are hitting the internet.

Oetjen was most recently a hopeful contestant on Australia‘s inaugural Bachelor in Paradise where after turning down the advances of Jarrod, Michael, and someone else I cannot remember, Oetjen settled nicely on Grant Kemp. Throughout the majority of the show the couple were very much loved up but before the commitment ceremony episode even aired, viewers became aware of the ugly split that went down between Oetjen and Kemp post-show.

As Oetjen never said a word on the breakup, we only heard Kemp’s side. He initially spoke to New Idea to accuse Oetjen of cheating on him with his friend before going into explicit details with Kyle and Jackie O

NowOetjen has had her say in an interview with Stellar magazine.

“My major reason for not saying anything is that I don’t want to give him any ammunition or any reason to keep coming back in the limelight, which is what he wants,” the 32-year-old said.

Fair enough.

“He wants to keep on grabbing those headlines. It speaks volumes for who he is really,” Oetjen said.

Without beating around the bush here, a lot of people aren’t keen on Oetjen as our Bachelorette and she’s well aware of this. From staying silent on the Kemp drama to having a third appearance on the Bachie series, some people just don’t rate her and it’s led to a lot of unfavourable comments across her social media.

“I think people who throw out these comments [on social media and online], they actually don’t realise the damage they’re doing,” Oetjen told Stellar.

However to withstand the intense scrutiny that comes hand in hand with being our Bachelorette/Bachelor, Oetjen has her friends and family for support.
