Stan Dropped The Chilling Trailer For A New Doco About One Of Australia’s Worst Serial Killers

Stan just unveiled the first trailer for your next true Australian crime obsession, After The Night.

The new series tells the true story of one of Australia’s deadliest serial killers, Eric Edgar Cooke, known as ‘The Night Caller,’ who terrorised a local community back in the 1960s, murdering eight people and assaulting and attempting to kill countless more.

Created and directed by Perth-born Thomas Meadmore, the four-part docuseries recounts the horrific murders through the lens of the filmmaker as he returns to his childhood home and visits the friends and family of Cooke’s victims.

The docuseries also includes scenes with the killer’s wife and the two men wrongly convicted of his crimes.

Speaking to Stan, Meadmore discussed his personal connection to the murders and how his local community was impacted.

“Growing up, mum’s tale of the man who randomly knocked on the neighbours’ door in the night and shot the person who answered terrified me,” he recounted.

“It’s been an incredible experience exploring his heinous crimes and the lasting impact they’ve had on the entire Perth community. This is a story that needed to be told and you won’t want to miss it.”

The docuseries drops in its entirety on November 29. Peep the chilling trailer below:
