Adam Sandler Says That Even His Kids Can’t Stand Adam Sandler Films

There’s obviously a market out there for Adam Sandler movies – they keep appearing on Netflix, and he keeps getting money to make new ones, so clearly somebody somewhere thinks that he’s a good investment.
If nothing else, old mate is self-aware when it comes to the quality of his recent cinematic adventures (I say ‘recent’ because I would clearly never besmirch the quality of The Wedding Singer or any of Sandler’s peak ’90s output).
During a recent appearance on Ellen, he revealed that his daughters are among his own harshest critics, and can rarely make it through one of his own movies. He explained:

“I’ll put them on, because they beg to see them. They’re like: ‘Please, it’s not fair, let me watch your movies! Those people always yell things at you on the street. I don’t know what the heck they’re talking about.’ So I show them the movies—they demand this – and they get, every time, I’d say about 20 minutes in, and then I see them tuning out, and then I hear them. They’re nervous to say it, but like, ‘can we watch something else?’”
To be fair, kids are little shits, so I can totally understand that happening, but I wonder if a little part of Adam Sandler’s heart dies every time he’s forced to stop The Do-Over or Blended and put Finding Dory on for his offspring instead.
