Adam Sandler’s Response To That Viral IHOP TikTok Is Perfect, Much Like The Man Himself

It turns out Adam Sandler himself saw the TikTok where an IHOP waiter told him about a long wait without actually recognising who he is, and now he’s set the record (somewhat more) straight about what actually happened.

“Not realising it’s Adam Sandler and telling him it’s a 30 min wait and him [of course] leaving because he’s not going to wait 30 mins for IHOP,” the TikToker, IHOP waiter Dayanna Rodas, wrote at the time.

Sandler’s version of events recalls things a little different. As in, it supposedly involves a craving for bottomless milkshakes.

“For the record, I only left the IHOP because the nice woman told me the all-you-can-eat deal didn’t apply to the milkshakes,” he said.

Hmm. Upon second read, it does kind of sound like an Adam Sandler-esque dad joke as opposed to a legit explanation.

Who has strong enough guts to consume bottomless milkshakes? Nobody, probably.

Then again, upon second watch of the TikTok itself, both Rodas’ and Sandler’s gestures do somewhat align with what one might imagine a milkshake misunderstanding to look like.

It seems this supposed clarification has raised far more questions than it answers.

According to the replies on Twitter, perhaps the biggest takeaway from this whole incident is that Adam Sandler’s getups may be casual but they’re also so recognisable that most people should be able to spot the man, with or without a face mask.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to self-induce a fever dream about Adam Sandler spiraling into an Uncut Gems-style fit of rage over not being able to get unlimited milkshakes.

Adam, if you’re reading this, boy do I have a pitch for you.
