Here’s Everything You Need To Know As We Head Into Season 2 Of ‘Only Murders In The Building’

Only Murders

Beware: mild spoilers ahead for season one of Only Murders In The Building.

A whole new season of Only Murders In The Building is returning to Disney+ on June 28, which means we gotta get you up to speed on the world’s most unexpected true-crime podcaster trio, Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short) and Mabel (Selena Gomez).

Before we begin, repeat after me – justice for Mabel!!!

The Recap

Stay with me folks because this Only Murders In The Building season one recap is gonna get you caught up faster than you can say “It’s not what you think!”

Charles, Oliver and Mabel are three strangers who live at the Arconia apartment complex in New York City. After an apparent murder in the building (get it?) that was ruled a suicide by police, the unlikely trio team up to solve the crime. And to start their very own podcast following their process.

There’s a bunch of twists and turns of course. Mabel looks like a likely suspect at one point – but ultimately the crime is solved. Onya.

However, the last time we saw new besties Charles, Oliver and Mabel, Mabel was covered in blood and leaning over the dead body of Arconia’s building manager Bunny (Jayne Houdyshell). Very sus.

And that brings us right up to speed for the beginning of season two.

The Cast

The stars of Only Murders In The Building season one are all set to return for season two, along with some new (but very familiar) faces.

Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez are all reprising their starring roles, while Tina Fey is also set to return as true crime podcaster Cinda Canning.

Cara Delavingne is joining the series as a regular cast member in season two, while Amy Schumer and Shirley Maclaine are also set to appear in the series.

The Plot

We don’t know much about what’s in store for the gang in season two, but the creators have dropped a couple of juicy hints.

According to Hulu and as reported by Elle, three unfortunate implications plague the trio this season. Firstly, they are publicly implicated in Bunny’s murder. That’s quite bad.

They are also now the subjects of a competing podcast (perhaps spearheaded by Cinda Canning???). AND they have to deal with their neighbours who all believe they committed murder. And TBH as much as I love Mabel I have my suspicions about her innocence – she has twisted the truth before!

The Trailer

Feast your murder-y eyes on this bad boy.

Season two of Only Murders In The Building lands on Disney+ on June 28. Pop your crime-solving hats on because it’s gonna be a doozy.
