A Dating App Just For People Who Went To Private School Has Launched In Aus

Today in things you (me) thought was a joke but is, in fact, a very real thing: a dating app exclusively for private school kids has launched in Australia.

Toffee, which launched in Britain last year, says it’s the “world’s first dating app for people who were privately educated” on its website.

“We set it up because we know people from similar backgrounds are more likely to stick together,” it continues.

The app’s founder Lydia Davis, a private school alumni, told Sydney Morning Herald that Toffee is a niche dating app for the 34 per cent of Australians who have been privately educated.

“We felt that Australia would be the best place for us to roll out to first though as we were inundated with requests for us to launch there,” she said.

Davis said there’s a whole list of private schools on the dating app but users can add their own if they don’t see it on the ~list~. The team will then double check the school to make sure it’s private / independent.

To commence the courting, Toffee features profile questions like your ‘Perfect Menu’ – Starter, Main, Dessert, and Cheese – and your preferred events on the social calendar. There’s also this thing called “sliders”, where users can slide the cursor to show how interested they are in attributes or whatnot, like golf or horse riding. I-I don’t know.

Toffee is available on the App Store, suss it HERE / marvel at their delightful promotional video below.
