Students Have Switched To Online Classes Due To Coronavirus And Their TikToks Are Chaotic AF

Around the world, the coronavirus is shutting pretty much everything down. In the US, students assumed they’d get off school and uni – but teachers and professors had other plans.

So far 12 states have shut down all schools, while a many other major cities and school districts have followed suit. In addition, around 100 major colleges have also closed down, including most of the Ivy League unis. These schools have switched to online classes, where everyone videochats together.

It’s exactly as chaotic as it sounds, and TikTok is having a field day.

For some, self-isolation meant more time to treat yourself. There’s no excuse for looking like mess, coronavirus or not.

Of course, trusting a bunch of uni lecturers and high school teachers with tech went just about as well as you’d imagine. If a lecturer doesn’t know how to turn on a projector or more the curser off a YouTube video, how are they gonna run a whole online class smoothly? (To their credit, it wasn’t a complete disaster).

However, online classrooms have certain advantages. Being able to change your background actually looks pretty fun, and bathroom breaks are a breeze when you’re at home.

Extracurricular activities also hit different in self-isolation.

Others simply took the opportunity to take the piss out of the whole situation. Sometimes the made-up TikToks are the ones which feel the most real.

Many students are also anticipating drama when their family members at home interrupt class. From shouting over uni lecturers to wanting to show up to graduations, it seems relatives will become a common fixture of online classrooms in some way or another.

But back in Australia, only a handful of unis and high schools have suspended classes for a day or two when they had coronavirus scares. While some students did take the piss out of self-isolation on TikTok, others are still waiting to be sent home.
