Let Your Inner-Hippy Fly At This World Music Fest On A Tropical QLD Island In Brissy

Island Vibe Festival 2019

In case you missed it, there are some stunning islands just a short trip from Brisbane which are so worth a long weekend at any time. In October, however, you can head to North Stradbroke Island and soak up the chill vibes of world music at the same time as soaking up the sun.

Island Vibe Festival runs for four days, from October 24th to 27th, to celebrate all things music, arts and island culture. Their musical line-ups spans across the globe, from the best in reggae, soul, dub, world, jungle, folk, Hip Hop and bass music.

Headliners include Kiwi OPIUO, who now calls Australia home and is internationally recognised. Can we just take a moment to appreciate the epicness of this live performance?

Then we have Indo-Tanzanian Canadian songwriter Alysha Brilla who blends the Indian and East African sounds of her heritage to make something totally her own.

The final lineup is out and here for your viewing pleasure.

You can also expect a bunch of workshops, talks, and cultural activities like traditional weaving, contemporary and traditional dance, eco workshops, world music, live painting and screen-printing.

Sounds bloody fun IMO. Buy your tickets now by heading over here.
