Ever been told you have a face voice for radio? Well then turn the volume up to 11 because we sat down with Brendan “Jonesy” Jones, one half of the popular WSFM morning radio show Jonesy & Amanda.
Jonesy talks staying open to job possibilities in the business beyond sitting behind the microphone and how to stay true to yourself once you actually get into radio *ahem* don’t do it just for the fame *ahem*.
But the biggest surprise is his advice on getting into radio in the first place. Jonesy himself studied Fine Arts at TAFE NSW, not your most likely of courses for a career in radio broadcast, right?
“It doesn’t just have to be radio, there’s a million things you can do that lead you to this [radio].”
His strongest piece of wisdom?
“Choose wisely with your radio name, choose wisely.“
