Head of Editorial:
Based in our Sydney office, the Head of Editorial will report directly to the Publisher, this senior management role will oversee the daily operations of the Editorial team in the crucial months leading up to launch and beyond, as we expand the local footprint of the world’s leading media and entertainment company for women.
The role is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Editor with excellent organisational, decision-making and strategic skills, a deep understanding of audience acquisition and a hunger to set a new standard for a women’s-focused media brand in 2021
Culture Editor:
Reporting to the Head of Editorial for Refinery29 Australia, the Culture Editor will be responsible for both writing and commissioning the site’s conversation-driving coverage of pop culture and entertainment news, exploring the ways in which popular culture creates a thread between complex ideas of politics, race, identity, social justice and more.
Our dream candidate will be immersed in the social conversation, passionate about exploring the cultural landscape through a critical lens, and understand how to use culture as a framework to illuminate the concerns and causes important to people.
Style & Living Editor:
Reporting to the Head of Editorial for Refinery29 Australia, the Style & Living Editor will be responsible for exploring complex ways fashion, beauty and lifestyle intersect with identity, culture and self-expression. They will write, edit and commission the site’s coverage through a mix of original features, columns, personal essays and shopping content.
Our ideal candidate will be fiercely passionate about making fashion and beauty a space where all women+ see and feel themselves represented. They will be as comfortable commissioning a story about caring for natural hair for Black women as they are trawling TikTok for beauty hacks on the cusp of blowing up.
Writer & Producer:
Reporting to the Head of Editorial for Refinery29 Australia, the Writer & Producer will be a true all-rounder who can help drive critical coverage of news that touches the lives of millennial Australian women across a variety of verticals – entertainment, fashion, beauty, money, careers and more – as well as helping to distribute the best of our local content on social media.
Our perfect candidate will be passionate about finding stories that inspire action, distil complex conflicts, give a female voice to global experiences, and illuminate issues that often go undiscussed, yet are widely impactful in Australian women’s lives.
