Weed-Infused Wine Now Exists So You Can Get Sauvignon Blazed

Weed and wine make a great couple. You can’t even walk through a house party these days without someone uttering something along the lines of, ‘jeez I bloody love a glass of wine and a joint’. Now the two are together at last.

Californian-based winery, Rebel Coast, is infusing THC into alcohol-removed wine, essentially swapping the drunk for stoned. Their first drop of high flying goodness is a sauvignon blanc which will be on sale in January next year. Of course, you won’t be able to get it here because our country’s laws still prohibit recreational use of the herb.

They also plan on making a rosé and a sparkling wine if savvy B isn’t for you. Each bottle contains 16mg of THC, which, depending on the size of your glass, works out to roughly 4mg per drink. It apparently takes around 15 minutes to kick in, which is pretty fast compared to edibles.

“After one glass you won’t be thinking your couch is a hippo with short legs or anything,” the website reads. “Our goal is not to kill you after you’ve had a few glasses. The goal is to get giggly and naked with someone. We set out to mimic the experience you’d find with traditional wine; a couple glasses will put most people in a great place.”

“Similar concept with booze – if you want to get wasted – rip some shots, if you want to get really stoned – take some dabs.”

Extremely fair statement. As you can appreciate, the wine has a pretty herby aroma, with the site stating it “smells of cannabis, lemongrass, lavender, and citrus”. Delicious.

A bottle of this, should you be in the state of California, will set you back $78 AUD. At least you have something to look forward to if / when recreational weed is legalised here in Australia.
