May We All Gawk In Horror At This Viral US TikTok Using Peanut Butter To Make Fairy Bread

Nothing gets Aussie and NZ folk more riled up than when someone tries to mess with our favourite childhood recipes, as discovered by a viral US TikToker who thought he’d use peanut butter in a fairy bread tutorial.

TikTok user @lunchboxdad uploaded the “tutorial” last month and, although he most certainly had the best intentions, his personal take on the blessed delicacy had users rightfully up in arms.

The tutorial used sprinkles (?) and peanut butter (??) to create rectangle (???) sandwiches.

“They use butter, I like peanut butter,” the TikToker narrated at one point, alongside the text, ‘don’t get mad at me Aussies!’

Mad, we got. The comments section has since been swarmed with Aussies expressing patriotic rage at the final product (which doesn’t contain butter, 100s & 1000s or signature triangle pieces).

The general consensus? While many might find the revised snack appetising, it’s far from the fairy bread that we know and love.

“Yeah nah mate,” one user commented, “congratulations you’ve created something but it’s not fairy bread.”

“No no no no just NO sorry this is just wrong in so many ways,” said another.

“Sir, you are going to jail.”

Check out the crime of a tutorial below. I can assure you’ll have an intense visceral reaction.
