UM: There’s A ‘Mary’s Burger’ Pizza On The New Lansdowne Menu

Last night was the official opening of the much-loved Sydney pub/heart of the Inner West, the Lansdowne Hotel.

PEDESTRIAN.TV was there with bells on to check out the space, have a bit of a boogie to the ‘yuge supergroup house band A Band, and knock the froth off a couple of cold ones with our beaut mates.
But something was hidden in the dark corners of that pub, a lovechild from the loose units up the road at Mary’s (the ones that have brought the Landy back to life). I gasped as soon as I opened the menu in the dimly-lit downstairs of the cavernous tavern. There it was – the Mary’s Burger Pizza.
What goes into the bad boy? Well, sit down and prepare your butts because it’s heart-stoppingly, pants-shittingly good.
We’ve got a thicc, doughy base, topped with: “Mary’s burger patty, bacon, shitty cheese, dressed up with the classic Mary’s sauce.”

The patty is rolled up into wee little meatballs, so kinda like the ones you’d get on a meatlovers. The shitty cheese oozes and dribbles oil all over your hands, arms, the table, and the whole thing comes together into a beautiful big love-fest of burger-pizza-deliciousness.
We’re stoked as fuck to say that PEDESTRIAN.TV were among the first to try out this pub-grub cuisine. With zero expectations or knowledge of what the hell this Frankenstein’s Monster of a counter meal was going to look – or taste – like, I went in blindly, came out victorious, and wanted more.
I want it in and around my mouth. (Photo: PEDESTRIAN.TV)
We got the goss from Mary’s/Lansdowne lord, Jake Smyth, about what inspired the Mary’s Burger pizza, and believe you me, it’s just as greasy and beautiful as you’d imagine.
Given our love for burgers and the Domino’s double cheeseburger pizza, it was a very lateral and obvious move,” Smyth tells PEDESTRIAN.TV.
Christ, I could go one now. Again. Bring it to me.
