TikTok Chefs Have Invented Milo Mochi Balls, So Looks Like We’re Never Leaving The Kitchen

milo mochi balls tiktok recipe

Friends, foes and former lovers, gather round, because I have a new TikTok recipe to share with you and this one will NOT make you run to Woolies to buy seventy kilos of feta cheese. All you’ll need for this one is a big old tin of Milo, and some simple ingredients like sugar and water. Too easy.

Introducing Milo mochi Balls. Yes, you read that right. Milo flavoured mochi. That you can make with ease from the comfort of your own little home. For once I’m not writing about a cursed TikTok pasta trend or someone making bolognese on their kitchen bench. It’s a blessed day.

In case you don’t know what mochi is, you absolutely need to try it for yourself. It’s a Japanese rice cake treat in the form of a soft and squishy ball, and it usually comes in flavours like matcha or chocolate.

The genius recipe (which I will absolutely be making tonight) was shared by chef and TikTok user @audreysaurus (Audrey), and looks like the perfect midday snack to just nom on while you work.

To make this bad boy all you’ll need is:

  • 1/3 cup heavy whipping cream.
  • 1 tsp sugar.
  • 1 tbsp milo.
  • 60g glutinous rice flour.
  • 30g sugar.
  • 100ml water.

I mean, I’ve got half of those goodies in my cupboard at all times anyway, so this sounds like a walk in the park.

You can check out the recipe vid below.

And if Milo (for some ungodly reason) doesn’t quite do it for you, then Audrey has some alternate recipes that you can make, like these delish matcha tiramisu mochi balls. I’m a simple man, I see the word tiramisu and I jump with excitement.

And yes, these ones look just as good, in case you were wondering. This variant right here has reached over 4M views, while the Milo version has over 9M. That’s a lot of folks gearing to go and go and go.
