All good things must unfortunately come to an end, I’m sorry to report.
Sydney’s bloody delish burger joint Pub Life Kitchen is officially closing its doors on October 14th, after a whopping nine years of serving up the best burgies in the inner city suburb of Ultimo.
Known for his weekly Wednesday offering of daring and delightful experiment burgers, PLK owner Jovan Curic has decided to call it a day on the Pub Life, and is instead focusing in on the kitchen’s little brother, Superior Burger, as well as launching a food truck/bus Superior Expresss, and future plans to expand his culinary prowess into Sydney’s west.

PEDESTRIAN.TV spoke with Jovan about the closure of the fave foodie spot, and how he feels about closing the door on almost a decade of simple-but-incredible gastro pub food.
I’ve wanted to do this for ages, but I’ve never let myself do it. It’s a real bittersweet feeling, and it’s surreal to know that it’s closing. But I’ve outgrown it, and I’m leaving on a high.
We pushed him a little on giving us a couple of sneaky peeks into the final Burger Experiment he’ll be cooking up for fans and food lovers, which will be available from Pub Life Kitchen on October 11.
I don’t want to give too much away, but let’s just say it’ll be the most expensive one we’ve ever done. Its a thank you to everyone who’s supported us. So we’ll be giving away a limited amount for free as a thank you.

Jovan told PEDESTRIAN.TV that his main focus for the next while is the younger brother of PLK, Superior Burger, and its on-wheels counterpart, Superior Expresss.
Superior Expresss was the original idea for Superior Burger. The bus was built by my business partner and his wife, and it’s fully kitted out with a kitchen inside so it can be hired out, customised, and used for events.
