A Brine-Heavy Pickle Fest Is Headed To Sydney & That’s A Bit Of A Big Dill

Fiends of the pickle and adjacent brine activities, you’ll be wanting to get yourselves to Sydney for the middle of November, because the inaugural Rise N’ Brine festival is hitting the inner west.

Swinging into The Oxford Taven in Petersham on November 16 (two days after International Pickle Day on the 14th) you’ll be able to grab yourself a seat in the pub and sample as many tart treats as your heart desires.

The Tav is teaming up with McClures Pickles and Jameson Whiskey to put on a whole range of pickleback shots, a full brine-inspired BBQ menu from the pub’s famed Black Betty smoker, fried pickle dogs, pickle pops and pickleback slushies for those who are running a bit hot.

The festival will also play host to a whole-ass pickle eating competition, with the winner walking away with a bunch of pickle-related prizes and bar vouchers to shout everyone a pickle sour from Batch Brewery or something.

If the Rise N’ Brine festival has your tum feeling all sorts of ways, the bar staff will also have some antacids on hand to calm your guts, so go hell-for-leather on that sour brine, my good friends.

The whole thing is free (very important) and kicks off from 11am. So mustard up all your mates and check out all the full dilltails over here.
