Fancy A Sushi Donut? Here’s A Heap Of Wild Mashups On This, World Sushi Day

If you’re the kinda person that drools at the thought of two dishes being mashed together to form some kind of hybrid-monster meal that probably shouldn’t actually exist, then boy you’re gunna love this.

Today is officially World Sushi Day – so yes please eat as much sashimi and Inari as possible – so here’s a bunch of dishes that are essentially sushi that have bred with other, extremely-not-Japanese foods to create some kind of wild raw-fish-and-rice gastronomical adventure.

How about this Sushi Burrito from Fusion Wrap in Victoria? A hefty boy coming in at at least half a kilo, this large parcel of nosh comes in both meat-eater and vego options. They don’t pack it out with rice, either.

If that’s too much for your tum how about these Sushi Donuts from Zutto Bento in RosalieQLD? Sure they look pretty as hell but I bet they’re delightfully messy too.

If you’re a bit more of a bog-standard roll lover, then how about a noice little blend of Japanese and Italian with some Prosciutto Sushi from Salon de Sushi in Port Melbourne?

They’ve also got all you vegos and vegans out there covered with a spesh selection of veg-friendly options, like this roll topped with kiwifruit. Sure.

Adelaide‘s pumping out some vegan wares as well, with this heaving smorgasbord from Sushi Planet, including mango and asparagus rolls?? Ok.

And if you’re into food that’s literally too pretty to eat, they’ve got Instagram-worthy sashimi/tataki bowls as well.

We’ve also heard whispers of some bizarre Dumpling Sushi happening over at Yuzu Dining in North StrathfieldNSW so the first to send me a photo of that wins a prize (read: deep respect and reverence from yours truly.)

You can order all these treats through Menulog today, so grab your fave chopsticks and a solid appetite and go to town.
