Turns Out Dubbo Brewed Its Own Beer To Cope With Harry & Meghan’s Big Visit

It’s not like anyone really needs a reason to brew beer, but a hotel in the city of Dubbo has commissioned a very special drop for a very unique occasion. That’s right, frothdogs: punters are celebrating the arrival of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with a limited edition lager called Dubbo Royale.

The beer, a blessed confluence of Dubbo’s Old Bank Bar and the Hunter Valley’s Hope Estate brewery, is being served on tap and in cans in recognition of the royal tour.

Like the royal couple itself, it’s been billed as a meeting of US and UK cultures. The bar’s Col Mackintosh told News.com.au the “marriage in a can” is a British-style lager, jazzed up with the addition of Citra, Mosaic and Simcoe hops from the US.

And yes, the tin’s design references the pair, too.

Mayor Ben Shields has been about the place with a can in hand, too.

It’s just one of the many ways the NSW regional centre is choosing to honour today’s arrival. A concert big ol’ concert and picnic will kick off this afternoon at Victoria Park to welcome the duo, before they head further out to meet farmers who have battled through severe drought conditions.

With any luck, the farmers will get their hands on a few of the tins, too.
