Piccolina & Four Pillars Gin Teamed Up To Make Boozy Granitas That Will Actually Get You Drunk

Melbourne’s Piccolina Gelataria and Four Pillars Gin have combined my two favourite activities, drinking alcohol and eating. Together they have made one mega-creation, freakin’ boozy granitas.

And no it’s not like rum & raisin ice cream, or any of those other bullshit flavours that seem like they might be alcoholic but really aren’t. Don’t even get me started on other desserts like tiramisu and trifle, which won’t get you drunk either. BUT thankfully (for me), these granitas contain one standard drink per serve, which means you’re guaranteed to get a bit tipsy.

The Piccolina x Four Pillars granitas come in three boozy flavours: The Southside Granita, Singapore Sling Granita and a Negroni Granita. All of which are based on classic cocktail recipes and use a different type of Four Pillars Gin. If taste tasting a fuck-tonne of gin flavours sets a fire in your loins, then you should seriously consider heading to the Four Pillars Gin Distillery in Healesville. But whatever you do, don’t befriend a bunch of dads at the local pub afterwards (not that I’m speaking from experience or anything.)

The Southside Granita contains fresh lime and mint, using the Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin. Everything about it screams South side: it’s basic, pale and fruity.

The Singapore Sling is a little bit more complex and incorporates the Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz Gin (which is absolutely elite by the way). It’s pineapple and lime flavoured, with a splash of pomegranate juice and a cheeky bit of Cointreau. YUM.

Then of course is the popular Italian classic, the Negroni Granita. This one uses the Four Pillars Spiced Negroni Gin, Campari and sweet vermouth, with some fresh orange juice. It’s definitely the most sophisticated of the pack. It has the same vibe as pistachio ice cream, or do I dare say it, rum & raisin?

The boozy gins are going for $10 a pop, and are only available at the Piccolina Richmond store. So yeet yourself over to Swan St and get one in your gob before the end of March.
