Bad news if you were really hankering to visit Paris and eat escargot with your bits out: Paris’ first nude restaurant is closing down after a brief 15 month existence.

O’naturel in the city’s 12th arrondissement offered the “pleasure of dining naked all year in the capital in the respect of naturist values” from when it opened in November 2017 but has announced that it will be closing in mid-February.

The restaurant, hidden from the street by large curtains, provided (nude) diners with a cloakroom in which to get changed and deposit their phones, from which they would enter into a communal dining space, where they would eat, nudely.

The owners, twins Mike and Stephane Saada, told the Daily Mail that they were forced to close due to a lack of customers. They told the Daily Mail that they themselves are not nudists, but they saw a business opportunity in serving food to nude people. (The Mail also notes that covers on the seats were changed between diners, which is very, very good to know.)

In a Facebook post, the owners said that they would remember the good times they had and welcomed people to come in, take their clothes off and eat some food before they closed next month.
