I love tarts.
Lemon tarts. Jam tarts. Choccie tarts. Onion and goats cheese tarts.
Basically, if you’re a tart, we’re going to get along very well.
One tart that has been getting quite a bit of press lately is the Portuguese egg tart.
The Portuguese egg tart is a very special kind of tart, and frankly, it deserves all the tart-based praised it’s been getting lately. A rich, gooey egg-based custard sitting pretty in a crumbly, buttery pastry crust? It’s the closest thing we have to a heaven on earth.
And guess what?
Oporto have just announced that from today onwards, they’ll be selling hot, fresh Portuguese tarts in store:
Now there’ll be no need to duck into the local bakery and hope for an after lunch, Portuguese tart-based miracle. You’ll find them baked hot ‘n’ fresh in store.
One pastéis de nata will set you back $3, or you can indulge in 3 for $8.
Cale-se e leve o meu dinheiro.
