After over six years in the Surry Hills food game, the team have decided to make the big leap south, and are planning to open the doors to NOMAD Melbourne in the city’s CBD in June 2020.
If the Sydney spot is anything to go by, the Melbourne edition will surely become a hot date night spot (what do I know, I never go on dates lol) as it nestles into Flinders Lane alongside neighbours like Supernormal, EZARD, and Kisumé.
The current head chef of the Sydney spot, Jacqui Challinor, will move into the position of executive chef and straddle the running and menus of both Sydney and Melbourne NOMAD spots, and though there will be a few fave items on the Melbourne menu, the kitchen team will also be developing a bunch of new items, highlighting local Melb produce and allowing the southern outpost to develop its own favourites.
NOMAD Melbourne will have that woodfire oven roaring, and is set to serve up treats like its house-made bread and those fucken delish charcuterie and cheese boards, though. Praises be.
With the news that the NOMAD team is coming to Melbourne, they’ve also confirmed that the Up The Road pop-up restaurant will also be running through to mid-2020, while the re-build of the original Commonwealth St venue continues.
