Yr Boi Matt Okine’s Slinging Free Chips & Nuggies From A Food Truck In Sydney Next W/E

We’re by no means suggesting that you need to be bribed with hot chippies and chicky nugs to go to a book launch – we would absolutely never say such a thing – but it certainly sweetens the deal a little, doesn’t it?

Everyone’s mate Matt Okine has used a chunk of his post-Triple J Breakfast life to throw together a novel, appropriately named Being Black ‘n Chicken, & Chips. To celebrate the launch, he’s popping down to the Public House Petersham to sign copies of the book and get you all munching on chicken nuggets and chips to boot.

The book drops on the 24th of September.

What’s more: if you buy the book on the day, every sale will raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation’s ongoing research into the prevention of and cure for breast cancer.

Here are the deets:

Matt Okine Food Truck Fundraiser

You’ve gotta register your interest HERE if you’re keen to come on down.

Oh, and guess what? He’ll be taking over our Instagram Stories while he’s down there. Yes, he vaguely has our permission to do so. Follow our Insta here ahead of time HERE.

Okine’s book is, according to publisher Hachette, “a funny, heart-warming and sometimes surreal look at how young people deal with grief, the loss of loved ones, and becoming an adult – all whilst desperately trying to fit in.”

Sounds great! You know what else sounds great? Nuggets. Also? Chips. Why not score a threefer in Petersham next Saturday.
