You may not be able to go to actual Disney World right now, but you can sure as hell eat like you’re there because Disney just shared their iconic cookie fries recipe for your at-home baking needs. And to make it even more enticing, it’s vegan-friendly.

The recipe was shared on the Disney Parks Blog (so you know it’s the real deal) on March 5, and has since gone viral because, well, COOKIE FRIES.

Usually, the cookie fries come with a variety of plant-based dipping sauces like chocolate, strawberry and marshmallow cream, but you could dip these bad boys in whatever your heart desires.

According to the website, the recipe makes 32 cookie fries, which is more than enough to share with your friends, but I won’t judge you if you eat the whole batch to yourself after a night on the Zoom-wines.

This recipe is pretty easy to follow, even if you’re not familiar with vegan cooking. It does call for egg substitute (which comes in a handy little box in the baking aisle of your local grocery store), but you could substitute for real eggs if you have a serious issue with sourcing the plant-based alternative.

The ingredients include:

  • 2 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup plus one tablespoon plant-based margarine, softened (e.g Nuttelex)
  • 7 tablespoons warm water
  • 5 tablespoons liquid egg substitute
  • 1 tablespoon molasses
  • 1/2 cup dairy-free mini chocolate chips

You can find the whole recipe on the Disney Parks Blog here, alongside other iconic recipes like their Mickey Mouse-shaped beignets, choc-peanut-banana French toast, grilled cheese sandwiches and even their beloved churro recipe.

Once you’ve mastered the art of the OG cookie fry, you could try spicing things up with other flavour combinations. Peanut butter? snickerdoodle? triple choc? The world is your oyster, baby!

Heck, you could even make your own cookie fry grazing plate for your first post-iso dinner party (or your next Netflix binge with your housemates).
