Chargrill Charlie’s To Cease All Eat-In Dining & Close All Stores For 90 Minutes Every Arvo

Cult fave chicken shop Chargrill Charlie’s has announced it’ll be closing its stores for an hour and a half every afternoon to do a complete sanitisation routine, effective immediately.

The chook shop chain posted to Instagram this morning, confirming all 14 of the company’s stores (13 in NSW and one in VIC) will close between 2.30pm and 4pm every day to be cleaned and sanitised, before reopening in time for dinner services.

On top of that, you’ll no longer be able to eat in at the Chargrill Charlie’s eateries, and takeaway will be the only option available for the time being.

The store closures come after the hot chook chain posted over the weekend about the rigorous cleaning each store goes through every night after closing, in order to curb the spread of COVID-19. The team also confirmed that they were closely monitoring the coronavirus situation and keeping communication with both the NSW and Victorian Food Safety bodies to make sure they’re not putting any staff or customers at risk of infection.

So you can still get your lazy dinner of a hot roasted chook, salad and some fresh bread rolls if you’re absolutely pining for it, but if you’re wanting to practice full social distancing, maybe order it through a delivery service and get them to drop it off at your front door instead.
