Black Star Pastry’s Rolling Out A Soft-Serve Version Of Its Watermelon Cake

What’s better than a Insta-famous, widely touted to be delicious as hell cake slice? That cake slice, all mashed up and served to you in ice-cream form. Everything is better as ice-cream.

Sydney sweets institution Black Star Pastry is rolling out it’s famey strawberry watermelon cake in soft serve form for two days only, as part of the Smooth FM Festival of Chocolate in Sydney.

Why there’s a strawberry watermelon cake soft serve at a chocolate festival is beyond us, but hey – we won’t complain.

The cake, if you’re unfamiliar with it’s deliciousness, is layers of almond dacquoise, rose-scented cream, and watermelon. It’s garnished with strawberries, pistachios and dried rose petals, and honestly walk right out of your workplace right now, jump in an Uber and go get a slice if you haven’t tried it, coz it’s a bloody dream.

The Black Star team will also be serving up a limited edition white choc version of the cake for the event, if soft-serve isn’t your jam.

The Smooth FM Festival of Chocolate is taking place on the 12th and 13th August in The Rocks, Sydney – so mark those dates in your diary now if you want in on this soft-serve action.
