Christy Tania, the pastry chef / psychopath behind the insanely difficult but spectacular “ice cream float” that we all gasped at on MasterChef this year, is bringing her mind-boggling wares all the way from Melbourne to Sydney for a massive pop-up in King’s Cross.

Melbourne After Dark is taking over the entirety of King’s Cross Hotel on Saturday, November 25 with all the best of Melb’s laneway culture. For a whirlwind 15 hours, each of the hotel’s five levels will host some of the city’s most fascinating live music, arts and entertainment, alongside some seriously famous eats.

Gourmet ice cream joint Glacé, the home of Tania’s ice cream float, will be there, along with other renowned eateries Tonka, Coda, Fancy Hanks and the iconic Huxtaburger.

Triple R radio are bringing a DJ takeover, and punters will be able to catch Melb artists like the Harpoons, the Delta Riggs, Saskwatch, Remi and Totally Mild.

Plus, Melbourne comic Joel Creasey will be MC-ing the evening, and live street-art will be enlivening the space.

Sounds like a night worth splashing out on? Yeah, obviously, but they’re doing everyone in Sydney a solid and making the whole thing free entry. All you have to do is register to attend right here.

The night runs from 8pm to 5am the next morning. If you’ve been planning a trip south that’s never eventuated, pop this one on the calendar instead.
