12-Micron Is Closing Down, So Go Spend All Yr Money On Dessert While You Still Can

12-micron

After three years of making us spend way too much money on desserts, 12-Micron is officially closing its very boujee doors in Sydney. *cries in rich*

The venue, which includes a dessert bar that seats 64, doesn’t have an exact closing date just yet, but a spokeswoman for the restaurant reckons you’ve got about two weeks left to stuff your face with fancy desserts.

ice-cream sandwich with a side of what looks like ciggies? I don’t know, but my taste buds are horny for this.

The venue will remain, being bought out by Dockside Group, but it’ll be just for events, which means no spenno dessert dates for you.

Apparently the owners, Australian Venue Co, are more interested in pubs and casual bars, so they’re selling up their dessert heaven to focus on what they really love.

The Barangaroo restaurant featured a handful of desserts that were the perfect way to enjoy one of those “fuck it let’s spend too much money on date night” nights. From a $21, you could cop a tasty milk chocolate, honeycomb sphere, pear, caramel (whatever the fuck that actually is) or for a measly $69 you can send your taste buds wild with a five-course tasting platter.

Basically, they specialise in those “I don’t know what this is or how to eat it” kind of foods.

I don’t know what this is, but I’ll take 37 of them please.

Obviously, the venue has non-dessert items too, but who cares for fine dining when you can stuff your face with overpriced sugar, am I right?

Honestly, there isn’t anything that tickles my fancy more than a five-course degustation of delicious desserts. I am utterly heartbroken that I won’t be able to spend more than my monthly phone bill on a little overindulgence at 12-Micron anymore.

You’ve only got about two weeks left to stuff your face with expensive desserts, so grab your significant other, bestie or just yourself and smash a five-course dessert while you still can.

RIP.
