Half way through 2009 three words were sent into the stratosphere triggering chills of excitement for anyone who ever wore corduroy pants, Converse All Stars and skated in the Nineties: PAVEMENT. REUNION. TOUR. The Californian five-piece - considered the original "Indie" and for Generation X - played the very first show from their reunion tour last night in front of a sellout crowd - in Auckland no less! - and the jury is in.

The Band's Perspective
Scott "Spiral Stairs" Kannberg posted a post-show update to his blog:
"Last night we played our first show in over ten years. and yes we were seriously nervous! the show was great. the fans were unreal. whew... all those pavement anxiety dreams can now go away!

The Critic's Perspective
Russell Baillie from the New Zealand Herald said:
"It was a show of many magic moments, whether it was the best tennis-inspired indie rock song ever ("Stop Breathing") or the tsunami guitar surge beneath "Grounded", or the countrified "Range Life". Altogether, that made for one happy reunion of band and fans and oddly enduring songs."

The Set List

Old Dudes

The Verdict
If you have ever liked Pavement you should stop thinking about it and get the hell on board! - unless it's too late...
