Perhaps it's the control freak within but I've always enjoyed the omnipotent power of reading "Choose Your Own Adventure" stories. Something about playing God, controlling your destiny and relegating writers to mere architects appealed wildly to my ten year old self and still does today. You can control your own destiny? I wondered. Really? No permission necessary? I don't have to check with Mum? Fuck yeah! And from that moment on I've been a fervent believer in giving people choice. Except of course in those excruciating People's Choice awards but that's a whole other blog post.
I suspect the good people from Purple Sneakers are pro-choice as well because they're giving punters the opportunity to tell them which local Australian acts they want to see on stage. They did it last year and now they're doing it again. All you have to do is visit Purple Sneakers' Website and enter four of your favourite Australian live acts, and 2 DJs or DJ crews that you want to party with this New Years Eve.
Purple Sneakers NYE House Party is getting set to grow into its fifth year of mega party mayhem!! From its birth at the Abercrombie Hotel way back in 2005 it has rapidly grown from those humble beginnings to last year's mammoth sized event that saw 2500 party goers fill the halls at Sydney Uni's Manning House.
Once you've voted you will then be in the running to win a group VIP party pass for you and 5 of your friends to party for free, you will also meet the headliners at Purple Sneakers NYE House Party. But wait there's more. They'll also give you an esky load of beer to help you get in the party spirit while five runners up will also receive double passes for them and a friend to go party as well. Pretty sweet deal for just a few recommendations right? Right. Well in the immortal words of Gwen Stefani - what you waiting for? Suggest away here!
