Perhaps it's the control freak within but I've always enjoyed the omnipotent power of reading "Choose Your Own Adventure" stories. Something about playing God, controlling your destiny and relegating writers to mere architects appealed wildly to my ten year old self and still does today. You can control your own destiny? I wondered. Really? No permission necessary? I don't have to check with Mum? Fuck yeah! And from that moment on I've been a fervent believer in giving people choice.
