The follow up to LCD Soundsystem's 2007 classic "Sound of Silver" is finito!

In James Murphy's head that is...

Hang on a sec I thought LCD Soundsystem were dead?

James Murphy went public over the weekend quashing rumours that LCD was no more only a week or so after Hot Chip's Al Doyle claimed they were finished. James Murphy told NME that LCD were still alive and kicking and that we should expect a third offering of which he's already composed eight tracks for.

"When I start recording I don't tell anyone not even my manager. I'll go away for a month to a studio outside [New York City] and do it."

JM didn't let much slide dates wise but has hinted that it may well be very soon.

"I write all my music in my head, I never demo," Murphy told NME "I get to a point where there are too many songs and I have to get them recorded. I recently felt that. I've got eight in my head - that's critical mass."

Happy now?
