The last time I saw The Juan MacLean play they were supporting DFA affiliated brethren Cut Copy across Australia. I was one of maybe two people in attendance for their set and of course by the time Cut Copy came on it was a sea of sweat and glow sticks. I have a feeling that next time they tour Australia it will be a completely different story.
A self described "disco inflected Human League sounding record," The Juan Maclean will release they're long awaited LP "The Future Will Come" on April 14. In keeping with DFA's "all in the family" mentality frontman John Maclean is joined by LCD Soundsystem keyboardist Nancy Whang (who I "accidentally" stalked at the Museum of Contemporary Art the day after the gig), Gerry Fuchs (formerly of !!!), and Nick Millhiser and Alex Frankel of Holy Ghost! With such talented players that's one spicy meatball!
The tracklist is as follows:
1. The Simple Life
2. The Future Will Come
3. One Day
4. A New Bot
5. Tonight
6. No Time
7. Accusations
8. The Station
9. Human Disaster
10. Happy Houses
