This post will make our Google analytic stats very eye friendly when these 2 young lads out of Sydney blow up.

Calling In Sick are pretty WOW. If they didn't sound like a certain French band they'd be huge, but they do - but they're still pretty tight & deserve big recog. Recog which they already have got given thanks to their gangbusters Bag Raiders remix which everyone on hype machine blogged, even Discobelle.

The producing capability's of the 2 classically trained lads is quite obvious, what the internet can't translate is how dope their live sets are. This is where Calling In Sick get groovey. Rather then get all techno with my adverbs I decided to board the Messenger train and throw some word at M.P. AKA 1/2 of C.I.S.

On your marks
Jesse says: (12:59:41 PM)
get set
Jesse says: (12:59:43 PM)
go!

Jesse says: (1:00:54 PM)
So we all know what you sound like, thanks to hypem.com + myspace.com etc. but what's going on with your live sound AKA why would anyone want to hand over their hard earned green to watch Calling in Sick live?

Jesse says: (1:02:00 PM)
p.s. you don't have to be gay and write essay answer

Jesse says: (1:02:10 PM)
aka you're taking way too long to reply

Jesse says: (1:02:15 PM)
I want to go to lunch.

Porta says: (1:02:10 PM)
Good question Jesse... Well it depends what you mean by "hard earned green", if its gonna cost people $100 to see us, then don't bother.

Jesse says: (1:02:31 PM)
will it cost peeps $100 to see you?

Porta says: (1:03:01 PM)
Well we hope not, but the only "green" money we have here is a $100 note

Jesse says: (1:03:16 PM)
wow. you roasted me in your first response - props.

Porta says: (1:03:45 PM)
ok ill answer that again:

Porta says: (1:04:01 PM)
....

Jesse says: (1:05:24 PM)
hahahahaha

Jesse says: (1:05:33 PM)
you're so ghey

Jesse says: (1:05:35 PM)
this is great

Jesse says: (1:06:21 PM)
What ever happened to the guy that was just sending me links to comedic youtube cartoons that write off New Zealand bros?

Porta says: (1:06:32 PM)
We incorporate heaps of sounds and styles in our live show that allow us to draw on our influences. We've never been into sets that are just thrashing what's popular on hypem or whats the latest on blogs...

Jesse says: (1:06:50 PM)
fuck dude you're still ghey.

Jesse says: (1:07:04 PM)
just give me a punchline to roll with. aka about your live set up and how it works

Porta says: (1:07:49 PM)
We just play a bit of metallica, a bit of van halen, a bit of kylie and a bit of grandmaster flash on two keys and a guitar

Jesse says: (1:08:14 PM)
really?

Porta says: (1:09:03 PM)
Well, the set's based around abelton live... We have a DJ set playing whilst we jam over the top

Porta says: (1:09:35 PM)
We also take requests....

Porta says: (1:09:49 PM)
Something so people DEFINITELY get their moneys worth.

Jesse says: (1:10:01 PM)
How dynamic is the set? Do you have to do gruelling 16hour warping/mixing sessions before every show? Or do you just feel the crowd mix it in and jam?

Porta says: (1:12:44 PM)
Just jam basically

Jesse says: (1:13:08 PM)
So the set is all pre-constructed ala daftpunk?

Porta says: (1:13:15 PM)
nooooooo

Porta says: (1:13:30 PM)
we do have an idea of where we want to go

Porta says: (1:13:37 PM)
but we trigger shit

Porta says: (1:13:52 PM)
and sometimes it works, and sometimes it sounds shit

Porta says: (1:13:59 PM)
same as a DJ

Jesse says: (1:13:46 PM)
ok dope.

Jesse says: (1:14:52 PM)
So you mentioned before that you take requests... If someone had to ask for Rick Astley-Never Gonna Give You Up would you play it?

Porta says: (1:15:45 PM)
with a little CIS flava... sure

Jesse says: (1:16:00 PM)
Wow, so who would do the vox?

Porta says: (1:16:20 PM)
you would Jesse, because you LOVE that track

Jesse says: (1:16:29 PM)
shux...

Jesse says: (1:16:47 PM)
fuck it dude i'm so hungry lets make this the final q.

Porta says: (1:16:51 PM)
ok

Jesse says: (1:17:16 PM)
where can someone see you guys next?

Porta says: (1:18:26 PM)
