The Big Day Out has announced its 2010 lineup and sadly there are no surprises. Muse step up to the headlining plate, veterans Powderfinger will try to prove why they're still relevant and Lily Allen comes out of a brief retirement to entertain us.

Muse
Powderfinger
Lily Allen
Eskimo Joe
Groove Armada
Grinspoon
The Mars Volta
Ladyhawke
Dizzee Rascal
Karnivool
Peaches
The Temper Trap
Kasabian
Midnight Juggernauts
Rise Against
Magic Dirt
Mastodon
Lisa Mitchell
The Horrors
Bluejuice
Calvin Harris
Kisschasy
The Decemberists
Tame Impala
Girl Talk

Despite rumours of Bowie and ACDC we're stuck with a lineup that seems to follow the trend of successful festivals trimming the fat. Try and act shocked when Dizzee gets up onstage to guest during Calvin Harris' set to sing 'Dance Wiv Me'

Big Day Out 2010 dates:

Sun Jan 17 - Gold Coast, Parklands
Fri Jan 22 - Sydney, Showgrounds
Tue Jan 26 - Melbourne, Flemington Racecourse
Fri Jan 29 - Adelaide, Showgrounds
Sun Jan 31 - Perth, Claremont Showground

Tickets go on sale Wednesday 7th October [Sydney], Thursday 8th October [Gold Coast], Friday 9th October [Melbourne, Adelaide & Perth].

Worst lineup ever! BDO bros letting down Australia.

Mastodon could bring it home and play Leviathan in it's entirety

Here's a great idea! Why not get Powderfinger and Muse and Grinspoon and Mars Volta and Groove Armada on the Big Day Out line-up! No one has seen them before on a festival in Australia! Seriously, Big Day Out, this list is the very reason why you need to retire the festival now. Lame as hell, you are no longer relevant to anyone....

Wow. Heaven forbid that you all get dragged at the scalp to BDO. If you dont like it, dont go. Deal with it.

Come on, it's not that bad. Besides, who that fuck actually believed that Bowie would be playing?
