Any Animal Collective live performance that isn't a grainy phone video from the nosebleed sections of a Belgian folk festival is worth posting.
It's fun - we get to see the wizardry up close and personal while trying to discern Geologists' make of head lamp and speculate as to what Panda Bear and Avey Tare are actually doing behind those illuminated consoles. Perhaps they're using a midi controller to turn toilet lights on and off or in the following video taken from The Late Show With David Letterman, perhaps they're controlling the minds of their liquid limbed backup dancers. Whatever the case, their performance of MPP's "Summertime Clothes" shows that acid rave and interpretive dance are the most logical bedfellows since Letterman and Shaffer.
