News.

Yesterday Pedestrian had the pleasure of chatting to former Transvision Vamp frontwoman, Elvis Costello collaborator and late eighties bombshell Wendy James.

Look out for the full video interview soon but for now Pedestrian can reveal that James' new solo record will include a track recorded at Sydney's own BJB studios with Scott Horscroft (Presets, Silverchair, Dappled Cities, The Sleepy Jackson) with The Scare as her backing band. The track is called "Speedball" and explores the various ways to do drugs (her words not ours). The new record is due to hit shelves worldwide in April and is set to be pre-released on Vinyl via French fashion label A.P.C. (online and instore).

The rest of the album was recorded in a private Parisian studio run by A.P.C. founder Jean Touitou who's also opened the studio doors to the likes of Jarvis Cocker, Wes Anderson (for his soundtracks) and Jonathan Richman.

Check in soon for the full interview in which Wendy talks about why meeting author Tom Wolfe left her speechless, ‘hanging' with Bob Dylan and Van Morrison, playing to 120,000 Germans with Rod Stewart and why The Clash are a lot like The Scare.

Also like every other Seminal band of recent history she was offered tons of cash to reform Transvision Vamp but it won't be happening kids - she's broke and happy.
