To celebrate the longest solar eclipse thus far in the 21st century the duo from Empire Of The Sun have created a six and a half minute ode to the constellations while offering Parklife-goers some clues as to what their debut live setup may look like. This is easily the whackiest performance clip we've seen in quite some time.

Oh dear. Was that it? Come on guys, if you're playing live make it a real spectacular show. 6 and a half minutes of miming to your least successful 'tunes'.
I'm dissapointed.
I think I'll stick to listening to the CD thanks. Plus, I thought you were a duo. Have you fallen out or something?
I'm a fan, but that wasn't fantastic. Sorry
'Emperor's new clothes' me thinks

Love the set, the outfits, the makeup, the performance but where are the songs? Style over substance!

what was the name of the first song?
anyways, if it wasn't for Empire of the Sun pulling a live broadcast, I wouldn't have even known there was a cool eclipse happening that I can't even see, none the less, I don't see anyone else making any attempts at staging a performance during an amazing galactic event. It is definitely something that I wish I was able to make plans for, to actually see the eclipse. I could have gone for at least one color theme though.
Black and White Extraordinaire,
Announcing Cosmic Grace,
Long Live The Empire!

it was alright, but i was thinking it could have been better. I love Empire of the sun's music it's amazing,
But I feel a bit dissapointed.
The set and outfits are good, would help if that video was in colour.
+ I know Nick doesn't do the live shows, but i really think he should, as atm its more like Luke Steele's solo show. Not Empire Of The Sun

I know that Nick isn't attending because he's working on his next Pnau record in New York. And the first song is called 'Breakdown', I think it was an iTunes bonus track for Australia.
I was a little disappointed to see this, I must admit I wasn't expecting a preview of how their live performances were going to be. I don't understand why Luke's miming if he was preparing for a live show that he'll (hopefully) be singing in. He doesn't need to mime! Still brilliant though, looking forward seeing to the live shows.

I didnt like it at first... i was like... wtf?!?! thought it was stupid. But i kinda just kept listening to it every once and a while and its really grown on me. Some say its boring, but i think its got a little bit of a house/funk feel to it. I think it was just way too out there, way too random to pick up at first. I think it was alright really, id give it a 6 out of 10.
btw im having serious trouble getting this security code right... haha i feel like an idiot

Man... this is crazy stuff! I think this was done from more of an artistic point of view and not from a mainstream sorta lets just give the people what they want! These guys are sick! Whats the big deal if they let some people down? Not a single person is going to lose sleep because of it! I reakon keep doing what your doing guys cause its your band and your music the people who will follow will follow. The others will get over it. sick video

Hey Martine, I guess they don't understand that. :-) But I did, and I agree - they SHOULD come to Norway!
I love, love, LOVE this one! At first I thought that the songs were not so good, and that the whole show was weird, but after I watched it a couple of times, I absolutely changed my mind. It is brilliant! Brilliant!
...and Luke looks stunning, as always.
