Woahhh aren't we about to drop a bomb...

Our homegal Gemma Ward is soon to "officially retire" from the catwalk to pursue the bright lights of Hollywood, an insider source told Pedestrian.

We know Gemma's already had a bit of time on the big screen but lets just hope she doesn't end up in Pedestrian's top 5 favourite failed "slashies":

5: Madonna (singer + child thief + actor)

4: The Rock (The top 5 triple threat - Actor/sportstar/musician)

3: Ja Rule (Rapper + ummm....Can his performances warrant us calling him an actor?)

2: Agyness Deyn (singer + model - More autotune on her tracks then peroxide in her hair - wow)

1: The cast of Neighbours - great because they can't act nor sing.

- Holly Valance (singer + Actor)
- Stephanie Mcintosh (singer + Actor)
- Natalie Imbruglia (singer + Actor)
- Kylie Minogue (singer + Actor)
- Dean Geyer (singer + Actor)
- Dr. Karl (singer + Actor)
- Harold (Releasing an electro-pop single this year.)*Pedestrian Exclusive
- Delta Goodrum (singer + Actor)

If there's any obvious omissions please let us know in the comments below.

Yeah FUCKING right!
Harold releasing an electro-pop single, what the balls?!
I don't know whether to laugh or cry or be excited or devastated or all of the above.

That's such a piss take though, no way is that true.

I heard that Gemma Ward's decision to leave modelling was influenced by Heath Ledger's death, who she was dating at the time. Apparently she has been grieving his death and feels the fashion world is too frivolous. Maybe in the future she will return to it, once she sorts out her personal life again.

Gemma actually released a statement saying this was untrue. "I was surprised to wake up this morning and read news of my own retirement. While I am taking some time off currently to rest and enjoy the company of friends and family, I am still very much a (excited and enthusiastic) working model and actress. I'm only 20, for God's sakes."
