If this doesn't warm your heart, nothing will.
South American football legends Ronaldinho Gaúcho and Juan Roman Riquelme, have apparently offered to come out of retirement and play for devastated club Chapecoense for free.
Local reports suggest the icons, from Brazil and Argentina respectively, have put their hands up to help club’s re-build the football side after 19 of its players lost their lives to the horrific plane crash in Colombia - even, reportedly, for as many as two to three years.
"It is a very difficult time,” Ronaldinho’s manager and brother, Roberto Assis, told a local sport publication. "Later on, if there is a contact, we can talk. I can only say that we are here and we want to help."
The same offer is also said to have come from Riquelme, after Chapecoense’s acting president said earlier in the week that the head of the Brazilian Football Confederation had ordered Chapecoense to play their final match using mostly junior players.
A reminder that, even in the darkest of times, the human spirit is a beaut thing.
