Trump and his supporters were right about at least one thing: a lot of left-leaning people live inside a bubble of similar minded, left-leaning people. It's true, they do, and this bubble, full of left-leaning people as it is, is where all the artists and musicians hang out.

You can be as popular with politically disenfranchised rural Americans and 4chan weirdos who think being a complete shitlord is better than sex (which they've never had) as you like, but if you're looking for entertainment for your inauguration that isn't Ted Nugent, you are going to have a very hard time.

In an act that screams "we have no other options" for two very different reasons - firstly, Moby is outspokenly anti-Trump, and secondly, who has even thought of Moby in like ten years - a booking agent for the inauguration approached electronic artist and DJ Moby, known mostly for having a music video that looked like it was done by Leunig.

Moby, known to his mum as Richard Melville Hall, posted to Instagram that he had been approached and jokingly offered to do it if Trump agreed to release his tax returns:

"Hahahahaha, I was just asked by a booking agent if I would consider djing at one of the inaugural balls for #trump... Hahahahaha, wait, Hahahaha, really? I guess I'd DJ at an inaugural ball if as payment #trump released his tax returns. Also I would probably play public enemy and stockhausen remixes to entertain the republicans. I'm still laughing. Hahahaha. So #trump what do you think, I DJ for you and you release your tax returns?"

He posted this with a bad but thematically appropriate picture of the Capitol Building:

At the behest of Billboard, he obliged in creating his hypothetical playlist for if he did play the event and, surprisingly, it's full of bangers, what a champ. You can listen to it right here.
